Who Should Take This Course
This course is for students who want to gain a better understanding of themselves and the role they play in society at large. None of us are outside of the historical moment we inhabit. Understanding how our personal experiences have been shaped by social institutions enables us to make conscious choices about how we engage with the world.
What You Will Learn
We will practice critically analyzing contemporary social issues and their root causes as well as learn about the six stages of community organizing. Each student will then identify an issue they are passionate about and partake in a hands-on activism project in order to experience the power of their own activist voices and visions.
