Who Should Take This Course
This course is for anyone desiring to better support the LGBTQ+ community personally or professionally through understanding the evolution of the community and highlighting key components of equity for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual, and questioning/queer people.
What You Will Learn
You will identify and practice using important terminology associated with sexual orientation and gender expression, becoming more comfortable in the use of inclusive pronouns. You will also engage in an exploration of some of the issues that the LGBTQ+ community faces, reflect on your own biases, and learn how to become an ally to help stop the cycles of biased behaviors and attitudes towards our LGBTQ+ students, colleagues, friends, and family.

NOTE: This course section is specifically for individuals seeking graduate units through Seattle Pacific University (SPU) or Brandman University (BU). There are graded assignments due in order to receive credit. Students seeking units must register directly with SPU or BU and pay required fees which are separate from the fee to take this course.
