Epoch’s Let's Talk About Race (LTAR) Certification is designed specifically for individuals who want to lead their school, district, or community toward a deeper understanding of the impact that race has on student achievement. Many methods currently in place are a top down approach to creating equitable change for students. This program believes that a bottom up approach is always necessary in order to respond to educators who are demanding results now.

As a certified equity coach, you will develop the tools, techniques, and strategies to lead school and community participants to look at race from both a personal and institutional perspective; begin talking about race openly; look at your own school or community through a racial lens; and take the first step to mobilize others toward a uniform understanding that race does, in fact, matter in school achievement.

Training Program:

  • Epoch will train and certify LTAR participants as Associates
  • Associates will be authorized to facilitate the LTAR workshop
  • Organizations that seek to train their staff to facilitate LTAR pay a yearly license fee

Training in LTAR is provided by an Epoch Master Facilitator with years of experience in delivering the LTAR workshop. It includes online, webinar, and face-to-face training, which provides participants with rigorous study, time for reflection, practice, and feedback.
