Who Should Take This Course
This course is for white people seeking to recognize, understand, and create a socially just white identity for themselves. When most people talk about race and ethnicity, they are typically discussing people of color. Often white people do not see themselves as having a distinct culture or race or as belonging to a group. This “racial illiteracy” can contribute unknowingly to social inequities by assuming a white perspective is “normal” or “the way things are”, which can invalidate, stifle, or silence the experiences of people of color.
What You Will Learn
In this course you will learn healthy, supportive strategies for white people to discover, embrace, and understand yourselves as racial beings as well as strategies for anti-racist approaches and actions in your personal and professional lives.
